Huzzah! I am pleased to report we have our first supermaket gem. Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc, year 2006, from Marlborough, New Zealand, which happens to be on sale at Shaw's for $10 instead of $14 for the next few weeks.

Along with the 20-odd other students in my class, Liz included, I put my nose into my glass of 2004 Casa Zuliani Sauvignon Blanc and took a good, long sniff.

"What is everyone getting here?" Our instructor asks, peering into his wine.
